Approach

Approach - A Distinct Healing Practice

Medical Acupuncture adapts the ancient theories and energy patterns of traditional Chinese medicine to contemporary scientific understanding of medical challenges, conditions, and ailments. Acupuncture – the practice of stimulating meridian points in your body with needles, current, heat, cupping, or scraping – is the vehicle for opening your own channels of healing. The combined Eastern and Western perspectives yield deeper insight into related emotional and spiritual connections to physical expressions of pain and discomfort.

I have received acupuncture for years, but Dr. Fauss goes beyond the typical traditional treatment. He blends his training as a medical doctor with his extensive knowledge and technique of acupuncture to provide a treatment plan that  focuses on the important issues. After treatment, my injuries have  cured quickly and pain has been eliminated. He truly listens to my concerns.

Practicing Nurse

I've been receiving acupuncture from Dr. Fauss for the last year. Although my hip replacement is inevitable, Dr. Fauss has substantially helped with the day-to-day pain. During one of my treatments for my hip, I mentioned I had numbness and tingling in my fingers and hands. Dr. Fauss performed carpal tunnel acupuncture and I've had no symptoms since that treatment. I highly recommend you seek his services.

Resources

Resources from the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture and the National Institutes of Health are available to anyone considering medical acupuncture as part of their care plan.

American Academy of Medical Acupuncture

The American Academy of Medical Acupuncture (AAMA) is the professional society of physicians (MDs and DOs) in North America who have incorporated acupuncture into their traditional medical practice. The Academy represents the highest standards of training and proficiency among physicians practicing in North America.

The National Institutes of Health

"Promising results have emerged, for example, showing efficacy of acupuncture in adult postoperative and chemotherapy nausea and vomiting and in postoperative dental pain. There are other situations such as addiction, stroke rehabilitation, headache, menstrual cramps, tennis elbow, fibromyalgia, myofascial pain, osteoarthritis, low back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and asthma, in which acupuncture may be useful as an adjunct treatment or an acceptable alternative or be included in a comprehensive management program. Further research is likely to uncover additional areas where acupuncture interventions will be useful."
